Prestressing

Freyssinet has a certified prestressing system, intended for various applications of internal and external prestressing, for infrastructural and industrial, residential and other types of structures.

In order to guarantee high quality service to all of its customers around the world, Freyssinet manufactures its anchors in-house, at its industrial pole Freyssinet Products Company (FPC) and manages a central bank of specialized equipment. At the same time, in accordance with the international requirements for ensuring the quality of prestressing works, Freyssinet has its own Prestressing Academy and carries out regular and continuous training of its employees. Freyssinet continuously works on improving products and technologies, and also has its own testing center and testing laboratory.

Stay Cables

Freyssinet is one of the world leaders in the field of cable-stayed bridges, with more than 400 structures built worldwide.

In this technology, which has been developing since the 70s of the last century, Freyssinet products represent a benchmark for the durability and safety of buildings, through:

- fatigue resistance

- high degree of corrosion protection through its invention of individually protected, fully wrapped strands

- easy control and monitoring

- easy maintenance.

In its range, Freyssinet offers materials and solutions for light structures as well as for long-span structures, through anchoring at both ends of the cables or through continuous cables guided through multihole saddles, with an exceptionally high degree of friction coefficient, thus ensure the application of the highest standards and recommendations for safety and durability.

Suspension Cables

The Freyssinet stay cable has been improved since its first applications to provide better fatigue resistance and durability; at the same time, research has been carried out to apply its benefits to other uses.

The Cohestrand® cable was thus developed to meet the needs of suspended structures, in which the loads are transferred to the suspension cables by means of collars and hangers. More recently, Cohestrand® has found a new area of application in suspended stadium roofs, where it offers architects unique flexibility and lightness and building owners a 100-year service life.

By producing its products in-house, Freyssinet ensures the highest level of quality and control of prestressing materials, and also offers a pro-active approach in monitoring and maintaining structures during operation.

The materials, depending on the application, have the appropriate attests, certificates and markings.
